Jenny Rydberg sponsors and leads high school Boy Scouts who wish to complete the Law Merit Badge during an annual all day event. This interactive event is centered around the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent. It includes visits to local law firms and the courthouse, and presentations by judges, lawyers, corrections and law enforcement. Boy Scouts will interact with lawyers in government and in private practice, criminal prosecutors and defense counsel, judges, and police and security officers. The experience of participating in Law Merit Badge Day is a job-shadowing experience for most high schools. Prior to attending Law Merit Badge Day, Boy Scouts are strongly encouraged to play video games that are designed to help you learn about the law and constitution of our country.
Law Merit Badge Day participation is limited to 25 registered Boy Scouts who have achieved Star rank AND who are in 9th grade or higher by March 2, 2012. Participants must stay the entire day to earn the badge.
