Lack of estate planning cause Seattle woman trouble

There are several misconceptions out there regarding estate planning. Many Americans see it as a painful and very costly process when in reality, it's only painful and costly for loved ones left behind if one doesn't have a simple and effective estate plan when one dies. A recent study shows that 44 percent of people between the ages of 45 and 64 do not have a will. Most Americans would rather not think of planning for their demise but for a Seattle woman, this prevalent attitude cost her dearly after her husband was killed prematurely in a biking accident.

The Seattle mother of two discovered more grief and stress after her husband died because they had no will or estate plan. The couple had no legal documents to dispose of their property after one or both of them died. After her husband's death, the woman spent several years and thousands of dollars to sort out their affairs. Looking back, the woman noted that a few hours now can save countless hours and a great deal of money later.

The Seattle woman urges everyone to not make the same mistake she and her husbaned made by having no estate planning. She especially encourages people from the baby boomer era write a will so that their children are not left with legal documents and fees.

Any Seattle resident without an estate plan is strongly urged to reach out to an attorney for proper estate planning advice. Preparing a will now will save one's family time and money after one's death.
