When a sudden death occurs it is best to be prepared

No one in the Seattle area wants to spend time thinking about their death. But all of us will succumb to it in our lifetime, it is inevitable. For those who go suddenly, families are often left behind with serious issues that need to be cleaned up. Planning ahead can help survivors and heirs to cope with the loss and to know what your wishes are.

Sudden deaths happen frequently. People die in car accident every day. They suffer from heart attacks and other sudden medical issues. No one is immune from a sudden death as it can happen to anyone. When families are not prepared for a death there can be serious complications that arise.

An estate plan is a valuable tool for families to prepare for death. Estate planning encompasses a multitude of different issues including wills, health care directives, power of attorney, and other matters. Most of the time these issues are not talked about and therefore family members are left wondering what a person would have wanted or they don't have access to important information. An intended heir of a property may not receive an inheritance if there isn't a will or other document with that information. Estates can be entwined in legal battles that last years all because wishes are not written down.

A sudden death is a very emotional time for a family. When an estate plan is created it can help a family focus on their grief and not have to worry about all the logistics. It can also ensure a family is left with financial stability.
